Who Showrunner and Sherlock co-creater Steven Moffat is to recieve a special award at this year's BAFTA TV awards for "outstanding creative writing contribution to television".

"Blimey! A special award!" said Moffat. "I didn't even know I was ill".
Previous winners of this award include former showrunner Russell T. Davies. Moffat won his first BAFTA in 1991 for Press Gang and won with Doctor Who and Sherlock in 2008 and 2011 respectively. Last Sunday he recieved the writing prize at the BAFTA Croft Awards for "A Scandal in Belgravia", the first episode of Sherlock's second series.
BAFTA Chair Tim Corrie said that Moffat is "one of the finest exponenets of his craft".
